Tiptoe stools were my bachelor graduation project. Tiptoe is a set of children furniture which creates new user experience of sitting. It enables children to enjoy a fun and relaxing gaming experience by sitting. The main feature of this set of children's stools is the structural innovation based on the support function. This inspiration comes from the hanging temple, and then completed the design project with the help of the imagery of Sika deer.
Unlike ordinary stools, it has five supporting feet

Five supporting feet have the same length, one supporting foot is in the center, and the others are arranged around the center with the same angle. In this way, the five supporting feet are not on the same level, but every three feet can produce a stable balance. When the user sits on the chair, he will swing and move due to the change of the support foot of the chair until he balances on a certain inclined surface. What's more, the sound of the stools also create auditory experience like a deer is running.

Sector: Furniture design  |  Morphological abstraction research
Individual work
Project date: 2017.05

This project proposes a new method of abstract abstraction. The hanging temple is selected as the image of the furniture design. I extracted some different morphological characteristics, and finally determined to change the different support ways to produce design ideas. Finally, by observing and visiting the user's behavior characteristics and preferences, the design scheme is improved.
